Come on back to the 37th annual Good Ol' Days!
We kick things off on Thursday, May 31, with Fort Scott Talent. The show starts at 6 pm at Memorial Hall. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at FS Chamber, 231 E Wall, after May 1 or at the door on the night of the event. Come watch your favorite contestants show off their talents! If this doesn’t interest you, then you can always stop by the carnival on Thursday, too. The carnival runs from 7 pm – 11 pm.
On Friday, June 1, runners will race in the Tom Davis Dragoon Charge at 5:45 pm and the parade will follow at 6 pm. Celebrating the great outdoors, the parade theme “Fins, Feathers & Furs” is sure to be interesting. Following the parade, Red Garter will perform it’s first show and will continue all day on Saturday beginning at 10 am at Liberty Theatre.
On Friday night at Skubitz Plaza from 7 pm – 10 pm, we bring you Shades of Blue, a band of five college students all hailing from Kansas City, one of whom was a top 10 finalist on KC Superstar, hosted by actor Rob Riggle. Come listen to some blues and rock ‘n roll from some very talented musicians. On Saturday night, check out the Brent Giddens Band from Oklahoma. Brent has performed at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, and received numerous awards and accolades for songwriting. In addition to Brent’s original songs, the band plays a wide variety of cover songs from multiple genres.
All day on Saturday, June 2, we are excited to bring you the BBCO Outdoor Expo again! Outdoor vendors will line the south end of downtown. Also, take a chance in the Buck Commander dunk tank, it is sure to cool you right off! A big thank you to Adam LaRoche, Buck Commander and Duck Commander for helping us put on such a great event.
We hope you can join us for a fun-filled weekend at the 2018 Good Ol’ Days!
